We are halfway through Term 3 and there is a lot happening in the Senior Sub School to prepare students for the end of year celebrations and formalities that are to come.
Although the end of the year is near, now is not the time to become complacent in your studies and revision. Remember to get enough sleep each night and consume nutritious food throughout the day to fuel your body and brain. Manage your time well and continue to go over the content for all your subjects to make revision more manageable as we approach exam time.
A reminder that your attendance is as important as ever for the remainder of this term. If you are not in the classroom learning, the expectation is you will contact your teachers and catch up on work missed to ensure the best outcomes in your education. If you are unable to attend school due to illness, please contact our attendance officer and provide a medical certificate with the correct days of absence upon your return to school.
Samples of the sizes have been at the Senior Sub School office for Year 11 students to try on. Once students are happy with their size, they will need to order their jumper via the link shared on Google Classroom from Mrs Martin, all other information relating to Year 12 jumpers has been shared with students. If you need more information or some assistance in purchasing your Year 12 jumper please come and see the Senior Sub School as soon as possible.
Year 11 subject selections for 2025 have been completed already and students are taking another step closer to their chosen pathway. If you were absent during subject selections, please make contact with Mr McDougall to finalise this.
During the first week of the September school holidays, Unit 3 and 4 students will take part in practice exams that will replicate and prepare them for the VCAA exams that begin in October. These exams are compulsory for all scored VCE students. Staff are busy preparing exams and revision material for students to ensure they are given the best opportunity to achieve their best at the end of the year. The exam timetable will be shared via Google Classroom for students in the coming weeks. Any concerns with exam times or clashes need to be forwarded onto Mr McDougall to make an alternative time for you to complete your exam.
Year 12 Graduation will take place at GMHBA stadium on Wednesday the 27th of November. Tickets are now available for purchase at $100 per person via the Administration Office or online using Compass. Year 12 students can invite 2 guests to attend the evening of celebrations. If any students need assistance in purchasing tickets, please see Mr McDougall or Ms Cropp in the Senior Sub School.
This is an exciting but exhausting time for our Senior students, the end of the school year is very close. Work hard and put in the effort now to see the success in your outcomes at the end of the year, this rings true for all VCE and VCE VM students. If you are feeling overwhelmed with your workload or anxious about the transition once leaving school, make sure you use the resources we have here at NGSC. Come and see someone in the Senior Sub School or a member of our Wellbeing team.
