In this club we are teaching students to use the vast array of 3D printers, the laser cutter and plastic vacuum machines at school. Students are supported in learning to use 3D design software to modify existing designs or creating their own prints. These can be functional or decorative, from tool holders, vacuum form RC car components to resin rings the designs are only limited by their imagination.
This runs every Tuesday at lunch in D11
Every Tuesday students are encouraged to come to the library to play chess with friends, learn the game or, if they are up for a challenge, play a teacher. We have four teachers who regularly attend and challenge students to a game. If students win, they earn the “I beat the teachers” chess trophy. These are highly coveted as only a handful are awarded each year.
Every lunch in Wellbeing, Dungeons and Dragons is running. Each day a different group of adventurers travel on quests to navigate strange new worlds.
Dungeons and Dragons is a narrated story where one person plays as the Game Master (GM), setting the scene and developing the adventure. Up to five other participants play as characters in the story, taking on the persona of the hero that they have created. The game promotes literacy, numeracy and many interpersonal skills, whilst having a great time. Most sessions end in fits of laughter and students having a great time. It is one of the better ways to spend a lunch break at school.
