CONNECT News

This Term, our Connect Program has continued to grow as a vital part of student life—fostering personal development, encouraging meaningful conversations, and creating a stronger sense of belonging across our school community.

Through weekly sessions and targeted curriculum, students have explored a wide range of topics aimed at building both academic skills and emotional intelligence. This Term we have covered the following topics.

ANZAC Day Reflections

Students were given the opportunity to understand the importance of ANZAC Day, honouring the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand service members. Through activities and class discussions, we explored the values of courage, mateship, and resilience.

IDAHOBIT Day

We celebrated inclusion and diversity by raising awareness around the importance of respect and safety for all identities. Students participated in activities promoting allyship, kindness, and understanding.

Goal Setting & Study Skills

Equipping students with tools for academic success was a key focus. From creating SMART goals to mastering time management, students were supported in taking charge of their learning.

Risk-Taking Behaviours & Vaping Prevention

We addressed real-world challenges by openly discussing the impact of risk-taking behaviours, especially the growing concern around vaping. These preventative sessions learning about assertive statements, aimed to equip students with strategies to make healthy, informed decisions.

Emotional Literacy

Understanding and managing emotions is vital for wellbeing. Students engaged in activities to help them recognise their feelings, develop self-awareness, and support one another in a compassionate environment.

The Connect Program isn’t just a class — it’s a space where students are empowered to grow as individuals, connect with peers, and develop skills that support their success in all aspects of life.
We’re incredibly proud of the engagement and progress we’ve seen, and we’re excited to continue building on this momentum this Term, with even more real-world learning opportunities.
