WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY RESOURCE CENTRE

The Library Resource Centre is open from 8.20 am until 4.30 pm every day, including recess and lunchtime.  Students are welcome to make use of a range of resources to help them with their studies.  These include a good selection of Fiction and Non-Fiction resources, as well as a range of DVD’s, magazines and newspapers.

Students are welcome to take part in the lunchtime activities in the Library throughout the week, which include; Jewellery Making, Board Games and Chess Club. The Library is a vibrant space and there are plenty of opportunities to catch up on school work, relax with a good book in one of the comfortable Bean Bags, or catch up with friends for a chat.  Senior students are also catered for, with a dedicated study space (ISP Room).  There are seven desktop computers, which are available for student use.  Some of the highlights of the Library year include; Children’s Book Week, a visit from a children’s author and the Grade 6 Orientation visits.

LIBRARY HOMEWORK HUB

What is the Library Homework Hub?
The Library Homework Hub provides an excellent opportunity for students to establish sound study and homework habits, by completing unfinished work or doing extra study.  At the end of the school day, all students are encouraged to access the Library resources, using both reference material and the Internet, to complete homework or study. It is also an opportunity to relax with a good book and unwind for the day.

When is it and where?
Monday to Friday from 3.10 pm to 4.30 pm in the Library Resource Centre.

What happens?
Students arrive at the Library, sign the Library Register and settle down to complete work.  Students may choose to research information using the resources on the Library shelves or by using the Internet. Although students will not be directly ‘supervised’, a staff member will be available to assist if required.  Students may bring a light snack and drink into the Library.
